Entrepreneurship For Sex Offenders

A basic Overview

A lot of sex offenders have trouble finding employment. But that does not have to be the end of the road for you. There are many things you can do to make money even if you do not have any skills what so ever. Get creative and really think outside the box on this one. If you have any kind of talent or knowledge in any area find a way to make a profit off of it. That’s what we (Sex Offender Jobs) are doing right now as you read this. We are extremely good at helping sex offenders find work when they have hit a dead end. It would be a shame for this gift to go to waste. So we offer a website to you and help you reach your goals.

What’s your skill?

So what is your skill? What can you offer someone? Are you good at fishing or passionate about it? Why not host a fishing contest once in a while and take a portion of the proceeds. There are so many options out there for you. You just have to think outside the box. Maybe you are good at skateboarding. Why not teach lessons? How about if you know how to build a dog house. Then do that. Can you wash a dog and groom it? There is another option. Just open up your eyes and see all the profits around you. Did you cut hair in prison? Try that one! You can do anything you want to if you try hard enough! (Well almost anything)

What Are Some Good Self Employment Options For Sex Offenders?

Well there is not exact list but here is a good place to start.

1. Deliveries / Driver:
People in bigger cities need things delivered and just don’t have the time. Or the ability to do so. This could also be a home mover type job option.

2. eBay sales or Etsy sales:
There are many sex offenders who import items from www.alibaba.com They take those items and then turn around and sell them for a profit. Some make small amounts of money others make tons of money. It’s really up to you. People on www.Esty.com sometimes visit thrift stores and resell the old junk they find. There are tons of youtube videos about this. It’s called “picking”

3. Commercial cleaning:
I would steer clear of cleaning houses. However you could offer your services to bigger stores. They need people to do all the dirty work. Also if you are a sex offender working by yourself make sure you are at least working out of county if you plan to clean apartment complexes.

4. Graffiti Removal:
Many companies are willing to shell out money to get rid of unwanted art covering the their business. Get acquainted with the owners and possibly see if they have a spot for you in store. You never know what options may open.

5. Window washing, pool cleaning, snow removal, lawn care etc:
These jobs are easy to get and there are a lot of sex offenders doing them. Just get a sign and slap it on your car or truck and you are ready to go.

6. Pet-sitting and dog walking:
If you can get a dog to walk for 20$ for an hour (not uncommon) and get 5 of them to walk all at the same time you just made 100$ or the same could be said if you baby sit them at your house for a day. 5 dogs a day baby sat, 5 times $20 = $100 or $700 a week. Seriously good money if you live in the right area and get the word out.

7. Hauling:
There is never a short supply of people we need things hauled. Check out www.Craigslist.com or maybe start up a shipping company and use www.uship.com The people on shipping wars do it. One of them is even a felon.

8. Web design, Graphic Design, Internet Marketing:
These jobs pay well and no one ever needs to run a background check on you. They have so many options from becoming a blogger to whatever else. You can even make money off of youtube if you are good at editing videos.

9. Marijuana Farmer (where its legal):
If you have a green thumb this might be the right business for you. Some states allow it and some don’t, you have to check your local laws for that one and we hold no responsibility if you violate any law. The only reason we are even putting this up because it is an option. That is what we are here to do. Please do not violate any law. Do not make us have to take down this option because it has helped many people afford to take care of their families.

10. Construction:
A lot of construction companies hire felons. In fact most do. The people you work for will rarely run a background check on you and most of the time you will be fine doing larger jobs. However you should try not to take jobs that will require you to work in finished homes where people are living. Unless it is completely outside the house. An example would be roofing.

11. Farming or Breeding Animals:
Raising farm animals can be profitable that is for sure. However it requires lots of work. With that said you could also breed something you love. A dog breeder can make tons of money. Even though most say that they do it because they love the breed. This is to stop people from doing it and stealing their business or flooding the market with puppies. We only ask that you please do not start a puppy mill. Please breed the animals with care. They have feelings and need to be loved. If you are unable to care for them then please do not breed them. Get them their shots and be professional.

12. Barber:
We know of a person who is a sex offender who makes tons of money servicing mostly African American people with awesome designs cut into their hair. He makes on average $30-$60 per client and never runs out of work. He has repeat customers who come back to him again and again and always spread the word about his great hair cuts. This is a perfect example of what you can do. Everyone knows he’s a sex offender who molested kids but they do not care. His haircuts are just to good to pass up.

Conclusion

Just because you are a sex offender does not mean that there are not any options left. Get thinking about what you are good at. Think about how passionate you are.

  • I thank you for sites like this. Society wants to degrade people who screwed up, but never realize that they too are human. I look forward to more comments. Thanks

  • I just visited my husband at Airway Heights Prison WA, he was taking the Web design, Graphic Design, Internet Marketing. They cut the program as of today, siting that nobody will higher a Web or Graphic Arts designer with just a year certificate. Pretty sad, as my husband has a degree in IT and Computer Science. He has about 2 more years left, then he’ll just start his own business. I do really like this site and will print off things for him to pass along to other inmates. Best, DM

    • You should send him books on programming logic and design. Also have him learn how to hand write code while he is in prison. The same can be said for HTML and CSS. He will not be able to see the code in action, but it can help him learn faster when he gets out.

  • There are so many jobs off limits to us SO’s. Yes, I am an SO. But sexoffenderjobs is doing a great service to us by putting out these articles for helping felons get back into the “normal” society. I have found that the construction option is a very good one, but if you get with a company that has a TON of government contracts, that company wont hire you because they need all hands on deck, so to speak…..and having to jump through hoops trying to find you one of their jobs that is NOT a government contract is not going to be in YOUR best interest. They will cut you loose before they flip over backwards for you. I am speaking of this on authority, because while I was on probation, I worked for a pipe fitting union. I stayed pretty steadily employed, until I was finally sent to an employer by my union that had a lot of government contracts. After time & time again of telling me I couldn’t go on”so & so job”, or “this and that job”, they finally just gave me my walking papers, & I haven’t pipe-fit since. So now I am soaking as many of these articles by Sexoffenderjobs as I can, trying to figure out what I can “legally” do on my own, or out of the house. Really, after seeing how the world treats sex offenders, regardless of the severity of the crime, I am welcoming the chance to work on my on. I have MANY talents in the construction phase of work (i.e., roofing, pipe fitting, sheet rocking, sheet metal work, etc.) & I am also a cook by trade. So I have plenty of talent and the schooling to back it up. To be truthful, other than being an SO, I am actually OVER qualified for a lot of positions open to SOs, so sometimes I just have to suck it up & take the lower pay that the lower position I am offered is going to give me. My best advice to the rest of us SOs reading this….get educated, & then get more educated…and finally, get MORE education. Maybe one day all the education you get will pay for itself in finding an employer…or employ yourself at what you are best at…or your favorite hobby….and the stigma of being an SO will eventually go away. Im not saying it WILL, but from what I have been reading all over the Net, the pendulum is slowly starting to swing back our way. SOME, not ALL, politicians see the burden it is putting our their states ta-wise, by having so many felons unemployed. states aren’t making their revenues, and so therefore SOME politicians are starting to craft legislation that will help, not hinder not only us, but their respective states as well. The sad side to that coin though, is that the politicians crafting So-friendly laws….are getting seen as soft on crime & being voted OUT of office. Shame on America for this travesty! So, the moral of my long drawn out story is….if you cant get hired….hire yourself. Figure out what you love doing, be it a craft or hobby….then offer your services to the public doing it. Just remember to STAY CONSCIENCE of your states laws (i.e., going into homes, daycares, etc.). I doubt you will fail the background check.

  • There are sex offenders who are on the list because of urination. The Government wants to make criminals out of the population so they are easy to control.

  • I love the fact that I’m not the only SO in this mess. I was 15 messing around with my girlfriend 13 at that time and got in trouble. Now have to register for life. It’s been 24 years since . I’ve been working for a company doing mechanics since 2005 and they just found out that I’m a SO. 12 years now and I may be in jeopardy of losing my job. They never ask for a background check so i never volunteered any information. But I did go to school just in case something like this happen, kinda backup plan , so now I’m left to wonder if they will bring it up or I have too. I’ve already had some rude comments made towards me about being a SO. I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens. But before I found this job I found alot of business don’t want to be associated with SOs witch is understandable but why do we have to endure and suffer long after we done our time and paid our debt to society. I almost feel like opening a company just to help SOs find jobs and get people back to feeling at least just human

  • My son is a RSO low risk non violent. He downloaded a video that had been tagged. Long story short, served 13 months in jail and is currently on probation. The counselor stated he made one bad decision. He is very educated. Has a degree in Computer Science. He has only been out of college for 2 years and found employment out of college. He has restrictions until his probation is over. He cannot use a computer or internet. This stops him from what he is trained at do he is looking for anything. He doesn’t care about the pay just wants a job. I don’t know how to help him.
